QUALITY OF PRACTICE AND PERFORMANCE NETWORK (QPPG)
SOCIAL CARE ASSISTANT DIRECTORS NETWORK

ABOUT US

The Quality of Practice and Performance Group (QPPG) works collaboratively as Councils and Children’s Trusts (CaTs) to improve outcomes for children, young people and families in the West Midlands region as part of the WM ADCS Regional Improvement and Innovation Alliance RIIA.

The key aims are:

  • To drive forward the delivery of improvements in the quality of social work practice supporting all CaTs to be “good” or “outstanding”

  • To identify areas of strength and areas for development across the region

  • To improve the environment in which social work is practiced

  • To ensure the voice of children and young people who are part of the Social Care system are heard and influence policy decision making.

A significant part of our improvement plan relates to Safeguarding and Social Care and as such this network has a wide remit providing oversight and steer to the linked quality and practice networks including Principal Social Work Network, Participation Leads Network, National Transfer Scheme/UASC and NAAS. Direction of communication works both to and from the DCS and supporting networks.

Recent collaborative work has taken place to collate a West Midlands regional response to the Social Care review. This network continues to advocate and lead on the agenda for the social care practice development strategy.
