SOCIAL WORK AGENCY NETWORK
The Agency network was a sub-group of the workforce network. As its name suggests it focused specifically on the usage of agency staff across the region.
The key outcome from the group was been the regional Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for agency staffing (aka the agency cap) which was implemented in January 2015.
Annual updates to the cap were published until the Spring 2018. There then followed a distinct piece of work reworking the arrangements which had avoided a projected £46 million in cost to December 2018.
In the Spring 2019 the refreshed MoU was launched and signed by all Council and Trusts within the region. There was also a new MoU which is for Agencies and Managed Service Providers.
The activities of the Agency Sub-Group have been reabsorbed into the Workforce Leads Network with the agency Work being overseen by the Regional Workforce Co-Ordinator.
